Will you survive the night or will a Zombie get to you? Bring the whole family and meet at Oakton Park to play a giant game of tag with a Zombie twist to gear up for Halloween. Tag will be followed by a showing of the movie, Monster House on the Oakton lawn. All participants must pre-register. Feel free to come in costume!

This course is designed to prepare young teens (grades 6-8) to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. This instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises that will help prepare students for childcare and leadership opportunities. Lunch will be provided.

Work with your team on this exciting glow in the dark scavenger hunt. Clues will be hidden throughout Oakton Park for you to uncover on your race to 1st place. Bring your flashlights and we will provide the team glowsticks. Pizza will be served inside the Oakton Community Center before the hunt. This is a drop-off Skokie staff supervised event.

If you love Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Katy Perry and all the cool pop stars filling your play list, join Glitzy Girlz for a night of fun and bring your pals! Our staff will be doing hair makeovers with hair color chalk, sparkle face gem and nail polish on each kid. The participants will decorate a pop star photo frame and get a photo in front of our Taylor Swift/Pop Star photo backdrops and fun photo booth props to accessorize. They will also design a cool bracelet with cool music related charms. Our staff leads a finale of dance party with playlist to all the hot female pop stars with disco lights and take home a glitter sparkle microphone as a memory of this fun class! Parents, make sure you bring phone to take your child’s photograph.

Join Glitzy Girlz to celebrate the color pink, just the way Barbie does! Our staff will transform a Barbie look with pink hair bow, sparkle, make-up and pink glitter nails. Each child will decorate a special wooden jewelry box with pink shades, glitter paints, personalization and jewels. Complete the activity with designing a beautiful bracelet with fashion and Barbie-related charms to put inside. The class ends with a fashion show set to the Barbie movie soundtrack. A special Barbie photo backdrop and props will be set-up for photos after class. Each guest gets a pink goodie bag to take home! Parents, make sure you bring phone to take your child’s photograph.

Join Glitzy Girlz for a memorable night with your special sons or daughters and celebrate the season of giving! Our staff will assist in each couple designing and wrapping up their surprises. Each couple makes and takes home three adorable gifts for family members –– wood, ceramic and jewelry items, perfect for male and female recipients. Paints, stickers, embellishments, personalization and a large selection of unique beads will be provided for all gifts. A holiday wrapping table with tags, wrapping paper ideas and gift bags provided to each couple for decorating and sealing presents. This class is an annual treasured memory of our company for over 20 years. Sign up and experience it!

Develop your body, mind and spirit, as you combine yoga postures with deep breathing and awareness, and experience increased energy, flexibility and peace. No prior yoga experience required. No class 11/25.

Students will learn the fundamentals and basics of cheerleading, learning four to five cheers each week, formations, and poms/dance choreography. We also try to schedule community events for participants to perform in throughout the session. The last day of class will be a parent watch day, with short student performances. No class 11/25.

Hip Hop/Break-dance: Under the creative direction of Chicago Loves Dance, students will learn the fundamentals and basics of choreographed dance. The last class we will invite parents to watch a dance performance!

Your kids will have a blast cooking up and devouring our exciting, tasty, and healthy recipes. Our interactive classes incorporate S.T.E.A.M., culture, language, and more, led by our experienced chef instructors. Allergies are always accommodated, and our plant-forward recipes are nut-free. Current research has shown a strong link between chess and academic performance in a variety of areas, including mathematics and language arts. Chess has been proven to enhance a child’s motivation, concentration, focus, social skills, and creativity. Each class will consist of a fun, interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Both beginner and experienced players are welcome and will learn under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach. No class 11/30, 12/1.

Join us as we design fun goodies to get you ready for the school year! Each participant will create a beaded item for backpack accessories or jewelry. We have a great assortment of themed beads, from crystals, to sports, adventure, unicorns, animals, neon and more. Our crafts include fun accessories for back-to-school decorating, with paints, embellishments, stickers and personalization options. A surprise goodie bag goes home with all guests.

Expand your builder’s imagination! Your child will build, learn, and master STEAM motion LEGO® activities, code them to move, make sounds, and even change colors through the tablet! On the last day, builders will receive a LEGO® surprise! No class June 19.

Increase your builder’s creativity with our LEGO® bricks program! Your child will learn science, technology, engineering, arts, and math with a different LEGO® model built each week. Your master builder will be able to create motorized models, 3D color brick builds, and our LEGO® Mosaics. On the last day, builders will receive a LEGO® surprise! No class June 19

Young Rembrandts provides a productive environment where your child will learn how to draw and discover his or her artistic skills. During the month of July, our students will revel in a colorful collection of summer imagery. A detailed sand pail, a fierce shark, and a sailboat are just some of the drawings our students will create. Reveal an imaginative world of drawing to your young artist.

Space may be the final frontier, but a Young Rembrandts drawing class is the gateway to a universe of artistic development. Young Rembrandts provides a productive atmosphere where your child can discover and strengthen his or her drawing abilities. During the month of July, our students will create images inspired by the space program. An exciting shuttle blast off, a detailed astronaut, adventurous chimps in space and the moon landing are just some of the drawings our students will draw. Set course for education and adventure.

Lace up your hiking boots and pack your binoculars, it’s an adventure through the forest with Young Rembrandts drawing class. Young Rembrandts gives your child the opportunity to strengthen his or her drawing skills. During the month of August, our students will create forest-inspired illustrations. A colorful forest scene, a detailed color pencil drawing, and exciting woodland, Funny animal expressions, a forest filled with ironic situations, and a humorous sequence of events are just some of the drawings our students will illustrate.
