Offering a good mix of strength training, with cardiovascular and flexibility exercises, students increase their coordination, agility and poise, as well as learn lasting personal safety skills. Young people will have fun, build confidence and whole body fitness, and learn self-defense skills and social-emotional awareness. Safety, personal responsibility and respect for self and others form the foundation of the program, nurturing the black belt leader inside of each student. Tae Kwon Do will help you develop physical, mental and muscular strength, coordination and overall fitness. Instructors: National Tae Kwon Do Academy, Inc. Monday class deadline 9/4/24. Thursday class deadline 9/9/24.

Filipino Martial Arts is also known overseas as Arnis de Mano, Eskrima/Escrima, and Kali. Featured in movies such as the Jason Bourne series, and more recently, Disney’s “Raya and the Last Dragon,” its basic concepts are first taught with impact and bladed weapons, before empty hands, unlike other Martial Arts. Learn single stick, double stick, and espada y daga (stick and dagger/short stick). Knife defense and empty hands will be covered in later classes once the basic mechanics are taught and learned. The universality of motion and flow inherent in the art will be taught once the basics are learned. Certain techniques can be carried over from (single stick) to (double stick) to (espada y daga) to (empty hands), and knife defense.
