From drawing to painting to sewing, the Devonshire Cultural Center offers professional instruction in many areas of the fine arts for participants of all ages. Involvement in the fine arts is associated with gains in math, reading, cognitive ability, critical thinking, and verbal skill. Research also shows that fine art stimulates motivation, concentration, confidence, teamwork, and a connection to the world and society, leading to an increased ability to form social bonds and a sense of community.

SAGThe Skokie Art Guild offers annual memberships for individuals, families, and students enrolled in an art degree program. Members can participate in the Fall Members' exhibit at the Skokie Public Library and the Spring show at the Emily Oaks Nature Center. Creating with Clay

Fun for all skill levels! Students will make a variety of clay projects, paint or glaze their work with food-safe glazes and explore the pottery wheel. Intermediate Jewelry Making

Take your skills to the next level and make more intricate pieces. We’ll build on past skills such as using jewelry pliers to open and close jump rings, beadwork, and using craft wire in addition to learning new techniques like macrame knots, using memory wire, and how to make basic chainmail designs to create layered necklaces, wrapped bracelets, wire earrings and other stunning one-of-a-kind accessories. In this three week session, you will learn all the skills necessary to create your very own free-spirited, boho beaded sliding-knot bracelet and matching lariat choker necklace.
