Instruction for all ages
Spend this season on the courts learning how to play tennis or improve your existing game in these fun filled group lessons. You will receive instructions from our talented professional staff on fundamentals, stroke production, strategy and match play. Please use the youth tennis level guide or adult NTRP rating levels when enrolling in classes.

Youth Tennis Skill Levels

QuickStart 1–5 Little or no tennis experience. Not ready for rallies. Instruction is given on a 36', 60' or regular tennis court using transitional tennis balls with the USTA format.
Junior Development 1 & 2 Advanced beginner through intermediate. Can sustain medium-length rallies (5 shots). Able to serve (introduce to continental grip) and play a game on a 36' or 60' tennis court with transitional balls and USTA format.
Junior Development 3 & 4 Intermediate through advanced. Can sustain long rallies, uses a continental grip on serves and net play, understands the court positioning and USTA rules for singles and doubles play. Play on full court with transitional balls (green dot) or regular balls.


Adult NTPR Rating Levels

1.0 Beginners
1.5 Limited experience — working on getting the ball in play.
2.0 Strokes need developing. Familiar with the basic positions for singles and doubles play.
2.5 Learning ball placement. Can sustain a short rally of slow pace with other players of the same ability.
3.0 Can place shots with moderate success.
3.5 Achieved stroke dependability and direction on shots within reach, including volleys, and seldom double faults.
4.0 Dependable strokes, uses a variety of shots including lobs, overheads, approach shots, and volleys. First serve can force some errors.
4.5 Begun to master the use of power and spins, can hit serves with power and accuracy and is able to rush the net with success.
