September: "The Feather Detective" by Chris Sweeney tells the fascinating and remarkable true story of the world's first forensic ornithologist, Roxie Laybourne, who broke down barriers for women, solved murders, and investigated deadly airplane crashes with nothing more than a microscope and a few fragments of feathers. October: "The Genius Bat: The Secret Life of the Only Flying Mammal" by Yossi Yovel brings to vivid life these amazing creatures as well as the obsessive and sometime eccentric people who study them--bat scientists.
