theater2

In the Devonshire theatre program, both children and adults will learn everything from scene study to musical basics, to story creation and much more. Artists will develop self-presentation skills with children learning to converse with adults in a mature manner, allowing them to develop poise and learning to overcome anxiety.

Advanced Scene Study

Students will develop their designs and ideas for a play. The weeks will be focused on concept pitches and design conversations regarding their plays. Each week the students will develop a presentation for the design element in question (scenic, lights, costumes, etc.) We will build a complete picture of the play and helping to develop the “director’s eye.” Students will finish with a presentation through a single scene from their play that implements all the components of the previous weeks. Instructor: Eileen Hand.
