Keli Stonitsch was recently chosen as the new human resources director for the Skokie Park District. She comes to the district after serving in a similar role at the Maine-Niles Association of Special Recreation (M-NASR) in Morton Grove.

Stonitsch is responsible for managing all aspects of the HR department to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the district. Her role involves overseeing the recruitment and selection process to ensure that the district attracts and retains high-quality talent. Her role also involves strategic planning, policy development, and the implementation of HR initiatives that align with the district's goals and objectives. She also serves as a key advisor to senior management regarding HR-related issues.

Stonitsch has spent the majority of her human resources career working in the public sector, serving municipalities, as well as a school district. Through her work with M-NASR, she became familiar with the operation of its partner, the Skokie Park District, developing a deep appreciation for the quality of its programs and the dedication of its staff to the community.

Originally from Wisconsin, Stonitsch earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Marquette University and later received a human resources manager certificate from Harper College. She is also a member of the Illinois Park & Recreation Association, having served on several committees, including the planning committee for the HR Symposium.

She enjoys spending time with her husband, four children, and two dogs, and loves recreational activities both outdoors and indoors – especially anything related to water activities. Stonitsch also enjoys cooking and has recently become a huge fan of pickleball. She travels to Wisconsin as often as possible to visit family and friends and to cheer on her favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers.
