Fitness Classes

Get ready for golf season by joining Brian Baker C.S.C.S (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) as he guides you through mobility, strength, and power progressions for golfers as used by the Titleist Performance Institute.

Combine the power of fitness center workouts with, online training, meeting new people, and focusing on your overall wellness. Training Teammates will utilize in-person workouts, check-ins, online training goals and workouts, and mental well being practices to empower the whole you. Tuesdays will be in-person.

Work the deeper muscles to achieve efficient and graceful movement, improve alignment and breathing, and increase body awareness. Pilates delivers simultaneous stretching and strengthening in a non-impact, balanced system of body/mind exercise. This class is taught both in person and online. Instructor: Kathy Corrigan.

This small group training class works out together virtually, twice each week, using a variety of modalities. Includes fitness assessment, goal setting, and creation of a program. Prices indicated are for Fitness First members and non-members. Instructor: Harvey Edelstein

Movements are designed to stretch and tone your muscles, loosen stiff joints and improve your posture and balance. You will leave each class feeling refreshed and agile. Instructor: Lydia Howe

Leave class feeling agile, refreshed, and balanced. This class incorporates adaptive poses and is perfect for all skill levels, ages, and abilities. Experience the deep calm of restorative yoga. Support and slowly open the body to engage the parasympathetic nervous system. Improve bodily awareness, mindfulness, and mobility while finding deep rest and rejuvenation. There are no standing poses in this type of yoga; participants are fully supported in a nest of bolster pillows, blocks, and blankets. Each session includes a restorative yoga sequence with 3-5 poses, pranayama (yoga breathing) and a progressive muscle relaxation meditation. Taught by Brian Baker, CSCS, TPI Level 3, this class will take you thorough mobility, strength, and power progressions for golfers as used by the Titleist Performance Institute.

This 5k training program will help you safely finish the Backlot Dash 5k! The 8-week training program includes tips on nutrition and gear, Backlot Dash 5K discounts, and meet-ups with the Skokie Swifters Run/Walk Club. This program is designed with flexibility in mind, taking your personal schedule into consideration, while allowing for meet ups with your fellow trainees. The Toddler Trot will take place on the Weber Center walking track. Distance will be one lap around the track. Bounce houses and open play equipment. Participants will receive participation medals and a t-shirt. All family members welcome! 

The perfect way to get the kiddos to exercise in the summer heat! All participants and participant’s families in attendance will receive FREE admission to the Skokie Water Playground good for one month from race day. Participants will also receive a t-shirt and a medal.
