Join us for our Winter youth race around Laramie Park! Stay warm with hot cocoa and marshmallows. Participants will receive a t-shirt, goodie bag and finisher medals. Participation Age: 6-13.

Work the deeper muscles to achieve efficient and graceful movement, improve alignment and breathing, and increase body awareness. Pilates delivers simultaneous stretching and strengthening in a non-impact, balanced system of body/mind exercise. Instructor: Kathy Corrigan. Price: Fitness First Members $14 per class. This small group format allows you to train from the comfort of your own home, but don’t be fooled. Taught by our lead personal trainer Harvey Edelstein, this small group training session will use body weight and strength training exercises to ensure that you finish feeling strong and sweaty!

Improve your stability and mobility as you stretch muscles, loosen stiff joints, strengthen your core, correct poor posture, and increase circulation. Leave class feeling agile, refreshed, and balanced. This class incorporates adaptive poses and is perfect for all skill levels, ages, and abilities. Experience the deep calm of restorative yoga. Support and slowly open the body to improve bodily awareness, mindfulness, and rest. There are no standing poses in this type of yoga; participants are fully supported in a nest of bolster pillows, blocks, and blankets. Each session includes 3-5 restorative poses, pranayama (yoga breathing), and a progressive muscle relaxation meditation. No class Nov. 27. This welcoming adult class offers gentle movement, stretching, and balance training inspired by aesthetic group gymnastics. Exercises are done at a calm, thoughtful pace—and there’s always room for fun and laughter! This is not your typical group fitness class. Come challenge yourself in a supportive setting and experience a new kind of gymnastics that improves mobility, posture, and body awareness. No experience needed—just curiosity and an open mind! 

This 5k training program will help you safely finish the Backlot Dash 5k! The 8-week training program includes tips on nutrition and gear, Backlot Dash 5K discounts, and meet-ups with the Skokie Swifters Run/Walk Club. This program is designed with flexibility in mind, taking your personal schedule into consideration, while allowing for meet ups with your fellow trainees.
