thinice_logo_black-blue_thinner-ice_horizontal_black_on_invisible_bkgdThe Devonshire Cultural Center theatre program includes Thin Ice Ensemble Homeschool Theatre classes and shows.

These children's programs are loosely based on conservatory-style theatre education presented in many leading dramatic institutions. The programs contain wonderful elements of acting and musical theatre and a comprehensive curriculum.

All students will also learn cooperation and social interaction skills, discover self-confidence and creativity within themselves –– all while having fun and making friends.

Advanced Scene Study

Students will develop their designs and ideas for a play. The weeks will be focused on concept pitches and design conversations regarding their plays. Each week the students will develop a presentation for the design element in question (scenic, lights, costumes, etc.) We will build a complete picture of the play and helping to develop the “director’s eye.” Students will finish with a presentation through a single scene from their play that implements all the components of the previous weeks.
