Join us for a one-of-a-kind historical walking tour that combines Skokie’s rich past with the vibrant flavors of today’s downtown area. Led by local historians, this guided stroll explores the legacy of beloved landmarks—including former sites like Alberti’s (now Village Inn), Paroubek’s Bakery (now Kneads and Wants), and the area around Duffy’s Tavern (now Take Flight).
Along the way, you’ll enjoy curated stops with stories, sips, and bites, including:
- A slice of pizza
- A housemade baked good
- A specialty mocktail or cocktail
The tour will last approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, starting at the Skokie Heritage Museum and ending at Take Flight.
Tickets will be released in two groups initially for 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. departures, with a possible third group added if demand is high and an additional tour leader is available.
This special Heritage Day experience is a partnership between the Downtown Skokie Merchants Collaborative (DSMC) and the Skokie Park District. Tickets will be sold exclusively through the DSMC.
Ages 21 and up with valid government photo ID. More info and register online here.
