Skokie’s Backlot Bash cancelled for 2020
With much regret, Skokie's Backlot Bash, scheduled for August 28-30, has officially been cancelled due to Illinois' Restore Illinois Phase 4 guidelines, which calls for no group activities to be attended by more than 50 people and for 6 feet of social distancing. The Backlot Dash 5K, regrettably, has also been cancelled. (A virtual 5K option will be announced soon.)
The Bash organizing team is already working behind the scenes to bring both popular events back, August 27-29, 2021. The Ohio Players have already been re-booked for 2021.
Check backlotbash.com in the spring of 2021 for details.
Parks, playgrounds & courts
Park district playgrounds are now open, but please be advised that the equipment is not sanitized, therefore patrons use playgrounds at their own risk and under the following rules:
- Maintain a distance of at least 6-feet from others at all times.
- When not with your stay-at-home group, wear a mask (covering your mouth and nose).
- Carry hand sanitizer and sanitize frequently, and immediately after touching equipment.
Basketball courts are now open, under COVID-19 social distancing and hygiene guidelines.
Tennis and pickleball courts
will remain open under the guidelines posted at the courts.
Park shelters and park restrooms
will open on Monday, June 29.
As before, please continue to enjoy walking, running and gathering in small groups in Skokie Park District parks, maintaining social distancing guidelines when necessary.
