Community Basketball League

Grades Pre-K/K & Grades 1 & 2
The Community Basketball League for girls and boys in pre-kindergarten through 2nd grade is a great opportunity for young athletes to learn the fundamentals of basketball and build their skills in a fun and supportive environment! Volunteer coaches will lead both practices and games using a structured curriculum designed to promote fundamental skill development. Each week, athletes will participate in a 45-minute practice followed by a 45-minute game. This format allows focused instruction and gives players the chance to apply what they’ve learned in a fun and supportive competitive setting.

Teams will be formed based on Registration.

Register for Pre-K/K  • Time: 12-1:30p.m
Register for Grade 1/2 • Time: 12–3 p.m. Game time depends on registration.

Grades 3–8
The Community Basketball League for girls and boys in grades 3–8 focuses on fun, skill development, and participation for all. Games are held on Sundays at the Weber Leisure Center, Niles North High School, or other local schools. Each team will also practice one evening per week (Monday through Thursday) for one hour, with practice times determined by coach availability.

Players register individually for this developmental league. There is no team registration. All participants must attend one of the mandatory player evaluation dates to ensure teams are formed as evenly as possible. Game schedules will be finalized and shared once team assignments are complete, based on the total number of teams registered.

Practice begins the week of January 11.
Games begin January 25.

How Teams Are Formed

  • Each coach will be assigned to their own children’s team.
  • Player evaluations are required. If a player is unable to attend an evaluation, they will be placed on a team at random.
  • Teams are not guaranteed to be grouped by school.
  • Rosters are final once the season begins, and no changes will be made.

Friend Requests
One mutual friend request may be considered during team formation, but it is not guaranteed. Both players must request each other to be eligible. Non-mutual requests will not be honored. Friend requests will not be taken into consideration for late registrations.
