Board approves new Weber renovation plan

The Skokie Park District board of commissioners approved a $3-4 million renovation plan for the 20-year-old Weber Leisure Center and Fitness First health club at their regular November meeting last week.

Representatives of William Architects proposed three plans for the renovation. (See Nov. 3 link below.) After the board discussed the plans it was decided to select a hybrid of one of the three. (See the final plan here.)

As part of the Skokie Park District's five-year comprehensive master plan, community members were recently invited to an open house discussion regarding the upcoming renovation The discussion focused on overall facility design and aesthetics.
