New cultural supervisor hired at Devonshire

Rick Flintz was recently hired as the Skokie Park District’s cultural supervisor at the Devonshire Cultural Center. In this newly-created position, Flintz will be responsible for planning, developing, promoting and managing instructional programming and events in the visual arts, music and early childhood.

He will also plan and coordinate all music recitals, art shows and receptions, the Devonshire County Fair, and assist with the coordination of Devonshire concerts. In addition, he will manage all financial aspects and volunteer coordination for the Skokie Art Guild.

Flintz will coordinate various Devonshire birthday parties, as well as develop, plan and oversee the Little Travelers summer camp and the Devonshire extended camp. He will also coordinate summer camp bus transportation for 18 camps districtwide.

Flintz has worked in recreation positions for more than 20 years, most recently at the Wilmette Park District as the district’s visual arts coordinator. He graduated from Western Illinois University with bachelor’s degrees in fine arts and history. He is a 13-year resident of Skokie. In his spare time he enjoys drawing and painting, gardening and spending time with his family.
