The Skokie Park District offers after-school enrichment programs for students at Madison School in grades K-2.

This class features three sports that alternate each week. Participants develop skills associated with each sport and have opportunities to use these skills in game situations. Emphasis is placed on skill development, teamwork and sportsmanship. No Class 1/20 & 2/17.

Chess Club with Ms. Sota
Come and join the wonderful world of chess! Did you know chess builds your child’s brain function, memory, strategic thinking and problem solving skills...all while having FUN! No experience necessary, all levels welcomed; everybody will learn and play each week in a friendly competition environment for young children. Perfect for getting prepared for the D69 chess tournaments in March and December! The hope is to help children gain a new pastime and sharpen their skills. Get ready to checkmate! Cheer with Chicago Loves Dance
Under the direction of Chicago Loves Dance instructors, Students  will learn cheers as well as poms choreography weekly in this upbeat class.  They will learn 3-4 new cheers weekly, work on form, as well as add on to their poms dance routine.  The last day of the class will be a parent watch day where they will do a short performance. Music Club with Ms. Sullivan
Come join us as we turn picture books into musical experiences!  Students will help create the musical possibilities as we work together to choose books and then create music and other sounds to go with the stories!  We will be singing, playing percussion instruments, including xylophones, composing, and dancing.  It’s time to get your creative energy flowing!

Basketball with Hot Shots
Children are introduced to the game of basketball in a safe, fun and exciting environment. Age appropriate activities and games are specifically designed to increase balance, body awareness, motor skills, hand-eye coordination, listening skills and the ability to follow directions. These skills will benefit your child on the court, in the classroom and throughout life. No Class 2/5.

Yoga with Chicago Loves Dance
This class is run by professional yoga instructors from Chicago Loves Dance. We supply the mats all you need to do is come ready for some yoga and stretch!  In this class kids will learn beginning yoga movements, terms and yoga based games to make learning fun.  Yoga in early childhood is wonderful for improving listening skills, building self-esteem and supporting social and emotional learning. No Class 2/5.

Hip Hop with Chicago Loves Dance
Under the creative direction of skilled Chicago Loves Dance instructors, students will learn choreography to newest pop/dance songs, show off their creativity in free-style choreography sessions and more. Chicago Loves Dance runs on the philosophy that dance should open your child’s creative abilities and be FUN! We pride ourselves on teaching the self-esteem and socialization needed in everyday life through the activity of dance and performance.  The last day of the class will be a parent watch day where they will do a short performance to show off their new talents. Art Club with Ms. Jozwiak
Attention all mini art masters! This class is a wonderful opportunity for your mini artists to explore all different types of fun art mediums. We will be taking a closer look at a few different artists and create an art project inspired by their work. We will also create a variety of different inspirational projects to express our inner creativity. Our mini art masters will get a chance to try different mediums from drawing, painting, and creating sculptures. Join us on our artistic adventure into the world of art! No Class 3/12 & 3/19.
