Following the successful installation of solar panels at Emily Oaks Nature Center, the Devonshire Cultural Center becomes the next park district facility to harness the power of the sun!
Installation of 81 solar panels began this week on the upper roof of the facility. The solar panels are estimated to produce a savings equivalent of 8 percent of the building’s annual electrical costs.
Over time, as the other roof sections are replaced, additional panels will be installed to further offset the electrical consumption of the facility.
