Practice ice allows figure skaters to practice on their own, take private lessons with their coaches, run their competition programs with music, and prepare for moves, ice dance and freestyle tests. Non-staff coaches are welcome to teach at the Skatium. Please contact Skating Director Christine Hathaway for non-staff coach requirements at (847) 674-1500, ext. 2925.

Fees
60-minute session: $12 with Easy Card or $15 drop-in

If you skate during a 60-minute session, then you must purchase a 60-minute session. If your skater's private lesson is only 30 minutes, they will have the other 30 minutes for practice. Skaters must have an Easy Card on file. If no Easy Card is on file, you will be charged the drop-in rate. The session must be paid for in the office before taking the ice. Drop-in rates are NOT available for morning sessions. Sign-in on the clipboard is required.

Skatium Competitive Training Experience

The Skatium Training Experience is designed for skater looking to become more competitive, working on the whole skater including skating quality, presentation, technique, as well as how to develop good training habits, mental toughness and how to compete. This exciting new program will be coached by Sean Marshinski, Teia Gherman and Noelle Covey. This class is 80 minutes on ice. Coach Sean will teach the Off Ice Conditioning class following at 9:30-10:00am. Skatium Training Experience Skaters can take the Off Ice Conditioning class for free. For skaters in Free Skate 4 and up.

Intro to TOI Team

Symmetry Ice Theatre would like to invite you to try Theatre on Ice (TOI). Skaters will learn our group warm up patterns and work on a program for the Skatium’s Ice Show (May 17-19) and Nationals Send Off Exhibition (June 23). Practice Schedule: March 9-April 20, 3:25-4:25pm: April 27, 6:30-7:30pm; May 4, 5:45-6:45pm, May 11, 5:45-6:45pm. No practice on April 13 due to the Eid celebration. June practices are TBD. Fee includes: coaching & ice time, costume & props, team t-shirt.

Snowplow Sam 1 (3 years old)
