Explore the hilly landscape of the Palos and Sag Valley forest preserves in southwest Cook County, the Forest Preserve District's largest and most diversified holding. Shaped by the glaciers, the rolling topography includes an abundance of woodlands, wetlands and ravines. Expect to walk about four miles at a leisurely pace, enjoying spring wildflowers along the way. Bring a sack lunch; transportation is by van.
