Both the Skokie Park District and Hot Shots Sports offer sports classes for children ages 2–12, most held at the Weber Leisure Center. 

These classes help children develop basic sports movement & knowledge, motor skills, hand-eye and hand-foot coordination, and at older ages more advanced instruction.

The Skokie Park District also offers Early Childhood sports programs at the Weber Leisure Center.

Hot Shots Sports aims to develop young athletes who will grow emotionally, physically, and intellectually in our sports programs. By redirecting the focus away from wins and losses and toward personal growth, we create an hot_shotsenvironment where winning is the byproduct of and not the means to success. 

This approach creates critical thinkers who understand the importance of giving their best in practice, games, and other life endeavors. Our coaches take pride in fostering that drive, and motivating your child to find the champion inside of themselves.

Junior Flag Football

Join the fun playing the nation’s most beloved game! Players are introduced to stance, receiving, rushing, blocking and defense. Each week ends with a scrimmage encouraging teamwork and sportsmanship. All players get a chance to play either receiver or running back each week. Games focus on fundamentals and field concepts, as well as positions and mechanics. No equipment necessary!

Sports Battle: Nerf and Dodgeball

This class features games from two of our most popular classes: Dodgeball and Nerf Elite Battle! All Nerf Blasters, ammo and eye protection will be provided. Dodgeball uses super soft balls and safety is stressed during game play.

Baseball Clinic 101

This baseball class gives players an introduction to baseball. Players work on technique and enhancing form in this comprehensive skills clinic. This program teaches throwing mechanics as well as batting stance, bat positioning and speed, using both live pitching and hitting off the tee. Players learn various positions in the field through game play and basic in game strategy. Players should bring their own gloves, and be ready for a fun, fast paced learning environment.
