The Community Basketball League for girls and boys in pre-kindergarten and kindergarten is a great opportunity for young athletes to learn the fundamentals of basketball and build their skills in a fun and supportive environment! Volunteer Coaches will be leading practices and games following a curriculum to ensure fundamental skill development. Each week the athletes will practice for 45 minutes and then play a 45-minute game. This will allow for focused skill development and plenty of opportunities for kids to apply what they've learned in a fun, competitive setting. Volunteer coaches will lead both practices and games using a structured curriculum designed to promote fundamental skill development. The Community Basketball League for girls and boys in 1st and 2nd grade a great opportunity for young athletes to learn the fundamentals of basketball and build their skills in a fun and supportive environment! Games are held on Sundays at the Weber Leisure Center, Niles North High School, or other local schools. Each team will also practice one evening per week (Monday through Thursday) for one hour, with practice times determined by coach availability. Players register individually for this developmental league. There is no team registration. All participants must attend one of the mandatory player evaluation dates to ensure teams are formed as evenly as possible. Game schedules will be finalized and shared once team assignments are complete, based on the total number of teams registered. The registration deadline is January 5. Friend requests will not be taken into consideration for late registrations.

This class is for the basketball beginner looking to understand the game, learn new skills, and have fun! Kids will develop skills such as shooting, dribbling and passing, along with the basic rules of the game. All instruction is game and drill oriented with mini-games and scrimmages played every week. No class 11/27,11/29 ,&11/30

The next step in basketball instruction, this class will build upon the fundamentals taught in the Basketball 101 class. A slightly faster paced environment will be geared around competitive play, encouraging tactics such as attacking the basket and aggressive defense. Players should have basic knowledge of the rules and be able to dribble comfortably in order to succeed in the class. No class 10/1 and 11/26

Players begin to develop more advanced skills such as various guard and post techniques, setting screens, moving without the ball, and offensive spacing. Defensive instruction includes man-to-man, denying the ball, helpline and boxing out. Players spend time developing their shot using proper mechanics to be effective further from the basket. Scrimmages are played every week. No class 11/27

Athletes qualified for Basketball 202 should possess intermediate shooting and dribbling skills, a basic understanding of the game and be looking for a more competitive basketball experience. Learn various guard and post techniques in order to develop passing, shooting and dribbling skills in game situations. Defensive instruction includes man-to-man, denying the ball, help-line and boxing out

In this extended version of Game Time Basketball, players receive an extra hour of practice and game time, as well as a jersey. Focused solely on player development, players get as many reps as possible both in practice and during games. Games follow the same format as the Game Time Basketball class, and prepare players for travel basketball. No class 11/30

Open Basketball Over 40 and True Potential allows players to get back into the game they know and love. When skills get rusty from limited playing, it can be intimidating to jump into a game with 20-year-olds spinning and dunking. Basketball over 40 levels the playing field and brings like-minded, competitive adults together for a good run. The emphasis the commitment to creating "basketball community" thru three paramount aspects: Competition, Courtesy and Camaraderie. Basketball players are encouraged to compete aggressively, but we know it must be within an atmosphere of courtesy. This is supervised and monitored by staff utilizing the True Potential Competitive APP, an iPad app that uses AI and machine learning to create the most evenly matched teams possible, which leads to maximum competition and level of play. Jerseys provided; scoreboard time operated each week. Full Season: 14 Weeks (Mondays) 9/16/24 - 12/16/24
