'Stand Up Skokie' rolled out at the Skokie Festival of Cultures this past weekend, perhaps the perfect beginning for the new campaign promoting safety, unity, respect and standing up for others in Skokie parks and throughout the community.

To paraphrase Skokie Mayor Ann Tennes in her opening ceremony remarks, perhaps nothing embodies the spirit of the campaign like the premier ethnic festival in Chicagoland, an event in which respect, kindness and being an upstander thrives among thousands of Skokie residents for an entire weekend.

Now the simple campaign lives on this summer, featuring signage in parks, facilities and at community events as part of a shared effort to strengthen public safety, foster belonging and reinforce Skokie’s welcoming spirit. The signs provide a quick way for Skokie residents to take the 'Stand Up' pledge.

But you don't need to wait, you can take the pledge right here, right now!
