Now in its twelfth year, original music will again take center stage at Skokie's Backlot Bash when Sister Hazel, Foghat, and ‘Tributosaurus becomes AC/DC' headline Skokie's end-of-summer downtown street festival, this weekend. Nineteen live acts will play on two stages over three days, featuring rock, blues, folk, roots and more.
The Bash will kickoff on Friday night with Gainesville, Florida alternative rockers Sister Hazel, known for their hits "All for You" and "Change Your Mind." Saturday will feature '70s British blues-rock band, Foghat, owners of eight gold records. Their hits include "Slow Ride," "I Just Want to Make Love to You," and "Fool for the City." On Sunday, Tributosaurus, a collection of some of Chicago’s finest studio musicians, will play the music of AC/DC.
The Bash will also host a carnival midway, a large beer tent with a small music stage, the Backlot Dash 5K Run, a children's stage and kid's activities at the Skokie Public Library, classic films, a classic auto show, a bingo tent, a dunk tank, a sponsor and community resource fair, exhibits at the Skokie Heritage Museum –– and on Sunday, a farmer's market, a community bike safety fair and the Rotary Pancake Breakfast from 8-11 a.m., featuring a bloody mary & mimosa bar.
