"Youth Unbound: Bike Adventures in Skokie and Beyond" is a free program for Skokie teens made possible with generous grant funding from the Skokie Community Foundation. The primary program goal is to improve the mental and physical health of young teens (and combat the effects of isolation, depression and loneliness) through communal bicycle adventures and exposure to the natural world. The grant will allow Skokie teens to learn biking and camping skills, and participate in experiences they might not be able to afford on their own.

The grant program seeks students who would benefit from the following:
- a bicycling program and potentially earning their own bike,
- an opportunity to form bonds with a small group of students, and
- the healing powers of nature (via restoration activities, campfires, campouts, etc.).

The following criteria are key:
- The students must be able to commit to the dates of the program (one week plus orientation).
- The students are teenagers.
- The students reside in Skokie.

To request an interview, please register online at A grant facilitator will be in touch with you soon after.
