Located along the Illinois River near the confluence with the Mississippi, Pere Marquette State Park is an 8,000-acre park famous for exceptional fall colors and spectacular views of the river. Lush forests, towering bluffs, an abundance of wildlife, and the nearby rivers provide the perfect setting for this outing. Expect to hike five to seven miles each day over terrain ranging from easy to challenging. Accommodations are provided at the state park lodge, a stone-and-log structure built in the 1930's, and the trip fee is based on double occupancy. All restaurant and trail meals are included, except lunch on Sunday. Registration deadline: 10/19/19.
