Steve Ames, Landscape Supervisor for the Skokie Park District, will review different pruning tools and techniques, demonstrating how and when to trim shrubs, trees and other perennials to remove dead growth and achieve desired tree shapes. Learn how to avoid damage and disease while pruning and how to promote vigorous new growth on your plants next spring. Bring work gloves and pruning shears, and dress to spend time outdoors.
