Michael Van Den Bosch was recently hired as the Skokie Park District’s Exploritorium and events supervisor. In his position, he will be responsible for the overall operation and management of the Exploritorium, as well as for planning, directing, implementing and evaluating Exploritorium daily programming. He also will manage Exploritorium birthday parties and special events, several district-wide special events, and two summer camps.

The Exploritorium, located at the district’s Oakton Community Center, features interactive play stations for young children and their families, including a climbing wall, dress-up area with stage, a giant "Lite Brite" wall, a water play area, and a two-and-a-half story tubes and tunnels playground. The facility was recently named Chicagoland's "top rainy day destination" by the Chicago Tribune.

Van Den Bosch previously worked as the assistant Exploritorium supervisor, as well as in recreation and event positions at the Forest Preserves of Cook County, Big Buzz Idea Group and the Neighborhood Boys and Girls Club.

He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in communications. In his spare time he enjoys camping, hiking, recreational sports, and exploring the Chicago craft beer scene.
