Amos Gillespie released “Solo!” the Chamber Music of Amos Gillespie, in 2018 on the Centaur label. Fanfare magazine wrote, “Gillespie’s music packs a sultry sort of wallop; he writes with a distinctive, individual compositional voice; strongly recommended.”
Amos’ music has been heard on WFMT in Chicago, WQXR in New York City and on PBS. His music spans a wide range of genres including chamber and orchestra concert music, jazz, as well as music for film, theater and dance. His music has been commissioned and performed by the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), Kaia String Quartet, Attacca Woodwind Quintet, Barkada Saxophone Quartet, Access Contemporary Music (ACM) and the Chicago Composers Orchestra among many others. He has two minors in piano performance, a MM in composition and a BM in saxophone. He is currently an adjunct lecturer at UIC.
